The Harris Farms Poultry Watering Nipples allow you to create your own hygienic waterer from your desired water source, typically a plastic container or PVC pipe. Each watering nipple accommodates three chickens. Use these watering nipples with a gravity flow system and do not connect to a pressure water supply. Harris Farms watering nipples must be mounted vertically. Each watering nipple has a 360 degree stainless steel nipple that will work from any angle. To install, drill a 3/8 in. hole into desired water source and screw in the nipple vertically.100% Satisfaction Guaranteed

  • Feature a 360 degree stainless steel nipple-tip
  • Harris Farms watering nipples are screwed into pipe or plastic container by drilling a 3/8 in. inch hole in the bottom
  • Insert using pipe-thread tape to make the connection water-tight

Q&As

1 - 10 of 24 Questions

Q: what is the thread size? I would like to add a nut on the inside to seal better. These leak like crazy.

1 Answer
  • A: Howdy neighbor! The thread size on these Harris Farms poultry watering nipples is a standard 1/8" British Standard Pipe (BSP) tapered thread, which features an outer diameter of roughly 3/8 of an inch with 28 threads per inch. Because these threads are intentionally tapered to self-tap into plastic, adding a standard backing nut on the inside is very difficult and will jam after just a turn or two. Instead of a nut, you can easily stop those frustrating leaks by wrapping the threads with three to four layers of standard plumber's Teflon tape and screwing them into a tighter 5/16" drilled hole.

Q: Are they long enough to be used on a picnic cooler?

1 Answer
  • A: Hello, thank you for your question. The Harris Farms 4-pack nipples aren’t long enough on their own to be mounted in a picnic cooler with standard thick walls.

  • A: Hello, we are not exactly sure what you are asking. The Harris Farms Poultry Watering Nipples are meant to be drilled vertically into a gravity flow system (PVC pipes, plastic containers, etc.) and sealed using using pipe-thread tape. Please reword and resubmit your question if you need more information.

Poor quality, leaky in both orientations.

I saw the reviews about them leaking, and disregarded thinking that maybe people werent using them properly. I got 2 packs, the first strike was the shelf labeled them at 8.99 (verified by sku / barcode) and they rang up as 12.99. Then I put them in and sure enough, horizontal installation leaked like a sieve. So I repositioned to have them vertical. Both installations aren't good. Vertical is better, but it still leaks. If it were 1 nipple, eh ok. But its ALL 8 from the 2 packs. Pretty disappointed about this.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Junk

Extremely hard to thread in without wrecking threads. For the build quality these should be about 10 cents a piece. And if you even get them to thread on they’re gonna leak out the valve anyway
