Q: Do you sell a hay bag with 1.0-1.5 in holes? Thank you
6 years ago1 Answer
- A: The measurement for the 35-4043-PK is approx. 1&3/4” in size. This is the most popular one the vendor has as the horse will need to work for the hay but its not so difficult that they get frustrated. The 1” that the vendor has is the 35-1385 hay bag, however this is more for traveling or for a horse that should not be getting a lot of hay. They have to work harder for the hay.6 years agoHelpful?

Nice slow feed bag. Don't get confused by the name -- Weaver Leather is the company, it is not a bag made from leather strips. Holds about a half a bale without trouble.

Like putting pantyhose on an elephant
The hay nets do their job by keeping the horses from overturning their feeders and tossing around the hay, so there's less waste, but the darn things are difficult to put the hay in. I feed Bermuda, so it is not in neat and compact flakes like alfalfa. The way I'm dealing with the situation is by bagging the hay in large plastic bags, gathering up the bag opening, and stuffing it into the net, then removing the bag. It's still awkward because the net doesn't want to stay open very easily.

Fantastic Addition to our Barn!

These hay nets are saving money by cutting down on hay waste. They also allow me to feed ample amounts of hay without driving out to the pasture in freezing cold Sub-Zero temps. I can't believe we waited this long to get hay nets and highly recommend this product.
