Q: Will this take auto paint off of metal
4 days ago1 Answer
- A: Yes, the Black Diamond Abrasive products are designed to remove paint and rust from steel surfaces. The Medium Blend is more aggressive and is best for removal of heavy coatings and rust. The Fine Blend is likely more suitable for your application and we always recommend testing a small area first to be sure.3 days agoHelpful?

Q: Can this be used with the wet sandblasting
a month ago1 Answer
- A: The Medium would likely be too coarse. We have heard that Fine blend can work in certain applications and equipment but we do not have any specific recommendationsa month agoHelpful?
Q: Does this sand have iron in it
2 months ago1 Answer

Great aquarium substrate!
Looking for some shiny black sand for your aquarium? Look no further because this stuff (med) is great in an aquarium. Super cheap compared to any black "aquarium sand". Just put some in a bucket and run a hose though it until the water is clear. Additionally you can add a few drops of dish soap at the beginning to remove any greasy residues. one year later and all my plants and fish are happy. Perfectly safe even for sensitive bottom dwellers such as Cory cats.

Watch your size...
I bought this to use with a new media blaster. I have 1/8" nozzles, as my compressor isn't that big. The medium size will not pass through a 1/8" nozzle. I thought I was purchasing the fine. I think the media is fine for outdoor work, but watch your size...

Very good price, but it doesn’t flow as good as sand for blasting. Can’t use sand anymore due to health hazard.

Black label/tank substrate-
This is my second purchase of this for substrate in a 55 gallon aquarium! So affordable, I fill a 5 gallon bucket about 4 inches from the top and let water rinse throughout until water is clear and no longer showing any film on top, then I place it into the tank with a scoop. 1 bag was enough and it looks so good!
Yes, I recommend this product.

Fine/red= sandblast; Medium/black= tank substrate
4 months ago
Seen reviews on this for tanks after using it in our gunsmithing shop for sandblasting firearms prior to painting. We use the red fine grit for the sandblaster and the black label medium grit for the tank substrate. Both work great and are SOOOOO MUCH MORE AFFORDABLE than other options. Definitely more bang for your buck in both scenarios!
Yes, I recommend this product.
