My cat totally snubbed this food. I went through the proper transition instructions that I’ve used for years. She was having no part it.

I prefer to give this to my senior cat with early stage kidney disease over other options because it's still grain free without the by products the other prescription brands have, however like other reviewers would prefer a smaller can option or even better would be snack size portions as our cat tends to graze and doesn't care for it after it's been refrigerated. We have found that if we puree in blender with a little extra water he prefers the consistency overall. Steaming versus microwaving it once it's been refrigerated also seems to help...but it's so much extra work that wouldn't be needed with smaller cans or snack size pouches.

Our 5 year old cat was diagnosed with CKD in October. He's so young to already have it but we are doing everything we can to help him. I did a lot of research when he was diagnosed and this food seemed like the most natural with no by-products. It took him a while to get used to it and for us to figure out how he liked it prepared, especially after having to refrigerate it. Sometimes the consistency is like peanut butter and we have to add water for him to be able to eat it but the most recent batch was smooth and nice. Also, sometimes the cans have a film of fat on the top which i scrap off and other times it looks great and there is no fat on top. It would be great if this food came in smaller cans. Our other cat has IBD and we have to feed him 3 days so they both get feed 3 times a day. It would make it so much easier if we didn't have to refrigerate it and reheat it since he loves to eat it fresh right out of the can. Otherwise, his coat looks amazing, he's back to his old self and we are very happy with how he is doing on the food.

My 2 cats have been eating this food for almost a year and also the dry food. They started with mild kidney disease and have had normal values since their first checkup. They would not eat any of the other brands. I do agree with other reviews that the wet food consistency varies and when softer my cats enjoy it, when it's drier they will not eat it. I also agree with the request for a 3 ounce can option. I would buy both. My cats will split a 5.5 can in the morning, In the evening they will eat less wet food and want dry, but my vet wants them to have mostly wet food. These guys will not eat re-warmed food. Please consider a small can option. Thank you for making this wonderful product and helping me to keep my cats well.
