Great little scuttlebutt motor

Have had for 2 years and it has been a great motor. I use external gas tank. Plunge the bulb untill tight. Pull choke and it will start right up. If it is already warm just set throttle slightly higher, with no choke. 1st time everytime. Is allergic to gas. Love it. Par sun parts and also some Yam ahaha will work. Coleman has parts support. But they no longer sell above 5hp. I get 11- 12 mph on my Intruder. Have hit 13.

Not worth it

Took the motor out for the first time, and broke it in the way the manual said. 30 mins in, after turning the motor off it was flooded and would not start. After getting it started about 30 mins later, ran it for another 45 mins and it flooded out again. Colemann or manufacturer would not answer the
phone or emails for warranty work and no shop around me would touch it (i live on the coast with tons of shops) nothing against tractor supply, just would not recommend this motor. Maybe i Just got a dud, who knows because manufacturer would not return calls or emails.

Strong motor.

Great motor. I’ve only had it out one time so far but it ran great. One slight problem that is easily fixed, the valve on the gas cap vibrates when you’re moving and times itself closed. I just put a little washer on it and now it’s fine.

Junk stay away!

Junk! I ordered it and never got it in the water. The motor started after the 6-7 pull, ran for about 5 mins and died. I pulled, pulled, pulled, etc and it did not start again. The pull cord was about to break because you could hear it start clicking. I took it back before I got stuck with it. Do yourself a favor and order a real brand and stay away from this headache. I am glad I had this problem in a 55 gallon drum and not on a lake somewhere.

Meh... Quality control issues

Well I heard good reviews about Coleman motors but mine came in missing a throttle lever and the fuel tank is cracked now. Owned it a month and haven't even gone on the water yet. They need better quality control but the motor seems to run okay
