Q: How many pouches do you use per square feet
9 months ago1 Answer
- A: Thank you for your question about how much Fresh Cab® to use. For best results, we recommend using one pouch for every 8 square feet of space. Place the pouches in areas where you notice signs of rodent activity, or where they’re most likely to enter, nest, or hide (such as basements, garages, storage areas, RVs, or farm equipment). For active infestations, start with more pouches in the affected area and replace them every 30 days or when the scent diminishes. For preventative use, one pouch per 8 square feet is usually sufficient, with replacements every 60–90 days. This helps ensure the aroma remains strong enough to deter rodents effectively.8 months agoHelpful?
Q: Is this safe to hang in a chicken coop
10 months ago1 Answer
- A: Hello Sandy! Thanks for reaching out to EarthKind with such a great question! You can hang or place Fresh Cab® Rodent Repellent pouches around the enclosed area in the coop. The pouches are made from botanical ingredients that produce a smell that’s offensive to rodents but not to humans. We do just suggest keeping the pouches out of the chickens' reach. If there is air flow, we also suggest keeping your eye on the pouches, as you may need to replace them a little more often due to the air flow drying out the essential oils a little quicker than usual. Once the oils dry out and the scent is diminished, you would need to discard the old ones and replace with new ones. The pouches are fast-acting and will help keep mice out of the chicken coop. For additional tips and information, check out our blog on how to "Keep Mice & Rats Away From Your Chicken Coop." EarthKind Customer Care Team10 months agoHelpful?
Q: Is it safe to use around cats
a year ago1 Answer
- A: Thank you for reaching out to EarthKind®! Fresh Cab® and Stay Away® are the first natural pest prevention products made entirely with essential oils and plant fibers. When used as directed, our products are people, pet, and planet friendly. The EarthKind® promise guarantees effectiveness without relying on harmful chemicals — part of our ongoing mission to provide safer solutions for families and the planet. We often get questions about cats in particular, and we’re happy to clarify: there are no known safety risks associated with using EarthKind® products around cats when used as directed. All ingredients are on the GRAS list (Generally Recognized As Safe) by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. That said, cats can be more sensitive than other animals to strong scents, especially essential oils, so we recommend placing the pouches in areas your cat can’t easily access. While our products are not harmful, they are not intended for consumption. To reduce the risk of curious paws investigating, we suggest using an EarthKind® Pouch Pod. The pod extends the life of each pouch and helps keep it tucked safely away from pets and children. If you have any specific concerns about your cat’s health or sensitivity, we recommend reviewing our Safety Data Sheet (SDS) and sharing it with your veterinarian. You can also explore our online Pest Library for more helpful tips on protecting your pets while using pest control methods. Thank you again for contacting EarthKind. We appreciate your commitment to a more friendly, effective, botanical pest prevention solution — and we’re always here to help!a year agoHelpful?
Q: How big of an area will it cover?
a year ago1 Answer
- A: Thank you for reaching out! Fresh Cab covers up to 125 square feet per pouch. For best results, place one pouch per enclosed space, such as a closet, cabinet, or vehicle. In larger areas, use multiple pouches, spacing them accordingly to ensure even coverage. For infestations, more pouches may be needed. Replace pouches every 30-60 days for continuous protection.a year agoHelpful?
Q: Is it harmful if it gets into well water that is not filtered? I want to put one in my well cover, not in the well but close by
a year ago1 Answer
- A: Fresh Cab is made from botanical ingredients and is designed to be effective for use around your home when used as directed. We recommend exercising caution when placing the product near a water source, especially if the water is not filtered. While the repellent itself is not harmful, it is best to avoid any potential contamination of your well water. We suggest placing the Fresh Cab pouches in areas where they are effective in repelling rodents but not directly adjacent to your well cover. This will help ensure that your water remains safe while still protecting your property from rodents. Should you have any questions regarding placement, please reach out to us at 1.800.583.2921. Cannot recommend this product enough!! In 15 years of winterizing an RV, this past year was the very first without mice 'droppings'.. The only change was the addition of this product!! AND, when re-opening in the spring, the fact that my camper smelled as good as it did , made me equally happy. I will never be without this, thank you for a great product THAT WORKS!!!!
Yes, I recommend this product.

Great smell and works great!
I live in a rural area, so naturally, rodents are an ongoing issue for us. But this rodent repellent has been a great solution for keeping them away! Not only does it work, but it smells great and doesn’t leave any harmful residue that I have to worry about my dog or kids getting into. It’s extremely easy to use, and I will be keeping them in my barn, garage, and shed for as long as I can. I definitely recommend using these!

Somewhat useful for mice
This product is supposed to help deter mice, is very easy to use and included two bags in the box.
It did not unfortunately perform as well as we would have liked. We placed the first bag down where we saw the mouse and worked for approximately 2 weeks and then our little friend showed back up so we replaced the first bag with the second bag. It has been almost 2 weeks so we are just waiting for our little friend to show up again. I would say the product does work but I also believe it depends on your location, we have a lot of trees and plant life behind our home and unfortunately I think the rodents have grown accustomed to sense like what is used in this product.

Thank you for sharing your experience and feedback. We’re glad to hear you found Fresh Cab® easy to use and that it helped initially. Fresh Cab® is designed to repel rodents from treated areas, but in locations with high rodent pressure or abundant surrounding habitat, additional pouches and consistent placement may be needed for best results. We appreciate your honest review and your support of our plant-based approach to rodent prevention.

So far so good!

We have an unfinished basement (concrete flooring, and unfinished ceilings). With spring coming up, I knew we needed something to help fight against the insect population. So far so good!! Pic to show what kind of flooring we have.

Thank you for sharing your experience and the photo details! Unfinished basements can definitely be a challenge when it comes to seasonal insects, so we’re glad to hear things are going well so far. Concrete floors and exposed ceilings often create easy entry and hiding spots, so it’s great that you’re taking proactive steps this spring.
Please keep us posted on how it continues to work for you over time—we’re here if you have any questions or need anything along the way.
