At this point, I have not used the machine yet. I have it in my shop, set up and ready to use, but I do not have it connected to a dust extractor. However, as a retired mechanical engineer with 57 years of experience, it looks and feels like a well-built machine. The finish also looks good. It was delivered in a sturdy crate. I am now wondering what I can make from all the pine and plywood that I salvaged from the crate. I would have gone with the G0858, but with the sale prices and various other factors, I was able to save a substantial amount by buying the G0857. Now, I can use the money I saved to purchase the helical cutter head of my choice, rather than have the head which came with the G0858, for which, I could not find any information. I am confident that this machine will be a huge asset in my shop.

Great upgrade to the shop here... shipped really nice, someone thought through how to crate this for shipping - really appreciate that. Used it, literally, right out of the box! Little Creek Cabinetry is going to use this to improve and expand our business. Thanks to everyone who made this an easy purchase - I'll be back!

So far so good. Just set it up and have run it a bit. Very pleased. Tables / fence are true and set up is minimal. Base should be improved for side ways movement Upgraded from a circa 1990 6" griz jointer that still runs great, just wanted the longer bed I'm not disappointed at all.

A few fit and finish items detract from perfection, but for the price it's a real bargain. It's also a beast, make sure you have a couple buddies to help unload it. Biggest drawback is the integrated mobile base, which only allows you to move it side to side, not out from against the wall. This seems backwards to me and is a real disappointment. I'll be looking for a proper mobile base to add to it.
