Q&As

1 - 7 of 7 Questions

Q: How do these go on? Do you cut them to get them.off? Thank you.

1 Answer
  • A: Hi Neighbor! To put on a Happy Hen EZ Poultry Leg Band, open the band, place it around the bird's leg, and then firmly close it until you hear a "click" to secure it. The band should fit loosely enough to move freely and spin on the leg, but you must replace it with a larger size before it becomes tight to prevent circulation problems as the bird grows. To remove the band, squeeze the connected ends until they release, or slide the connected ends in opposite directions.

Q: What size for adult wood ducks or adult Mandarin ducks??

1 Answer
  • A: Hi Neighbor! For adult wood ducks or adult Mandarin ducks, neither the Medium nor Large Happy Hen Treats EZ Leg Bands are recommended, as the bands were designed with chickens in mind and are difficult to fit on ducks.

I like them!

We had to rescue about 48 birds, I bought two different packs of these and banded them to make sure they didn’t get mixed up with my flock that I have. They were extremely easy to use, especially if you had one person to hold the bird while you place these on the birds foot, if you were doing it alone it’s a little bit more difficult to hold the birds still long enough for you to get them on their foot but it worked, the chickens didn’t seem to be bothered by it or go after the chickens that had it on their feet! Will definitely use these in the future if I ever need them.
