Keep your above ground pool water clean, soft and refreshing with the Intex 1,200 GPH Sand Pool Filter Pump. The pool filter pump provides excellent water filtration as the 6-function control valve allows the pool owner to filter, backwash and rinse, recirculate, drain and close the system. The built-in 24-hour timer adds to the hassle-free experience with maintaining a cleaner pool. The strainer basket provides easy-cleaning and prolongs the life of the sand. The pool pump generates a pump flow rate of 1,500 GPH, ideal for above ground pools. This pump requires virtually no maintenance except replacement of sand every 5 years.

Too small for 19 foot pool

SX 1500 came with 18X9X54. 2 years in a row the pump cannot keep pool clean. Dead algae particles are too much for this pumps capacity. Will try a bigger filter pump but this unit is too small for this size pool.

Sand filter over the cartridge filter

Just purchased this 1500gph unit a few weeks ago. So far, We are very happy the way it has been running and cleaning our 14' X 42" 3600 gallon intex pool. We have noticed the clarity is better. Puts out much more filtered water over the 1000 gph cartridge filter that drops down once the cartridge starts gets clogged, that came with the pool. Much easier to clean the sand filter and a whole lot less mess that always happened with the cartridge filter that came with the pool. We opted for the model without the skimmer because we don't have trees around. Happy with this purchase.

Pump and Tank issues.

Purchased two years ago and used for two seasons. At the start of this season the pump stopped working. So I purchased a new one. When the pump runs it works well. The new pump set arrived but the tank is misshapen so does not make a tight seal. Needed to use the old tank to get the system working. Attempted to send a comment to the company but the online form kept crashing so I am now just posting a slightly negative review.
