This Kolor Scape 0.5 cu. ft. All-Purpose Sand can be used in a variety of ways. From traction aid for machinery to creating an above-ground pool base, this all-purpose sand comes in handy for many projects! Non-toxic and safe, the Kolor Scape sand can be used to fill sandboxes for kids to dig and play in! Or use it as a soil amendment, in concrete masonry, to make a patio or paver base or even use it for pets! Hamsters love to burrow and dig in sand baths. Got this sand for my chicken coop and it worked like a charm! Delivery was quick and effortless too! Now I’m just waiting for it to dry out :) it was wet inside the bags

For one I thought the bags would be bigger since they are labeled 50Ibs, but I was way wrong. I had to go back and purchase more. We used the sand in our chicken coop, but we did not keep it in the coop for more than a week. We had a leak in the coop and the sand got wet and turned into chunks and would not dry. On another note I personally do not like sand as bedding in our coop. It holds the smell of the poo and our coop smelt so bad!! We ended up cleaning the sand out of the coop and going back to pine shavings. If you buy this sand be prepared to get 15-20+ bags cause these bags are super small and it does not spread thickly. They also come wet so we had to let ours sit out in the sun for 2-3 days before laying.

I was looking for a smaller quantity of rougher sand rather than placement. I would like horticultural grid but no one in this country seems to sell it. I think it’s way overpriced, but such as life.

Great for Chicken Run!

I got this sand for my chicken run and absolutely love it. I use the Coop Scoop for my routine cleaning (think litter box), and it works so well with this sand! The last batch of sand I got for my initial setup was from the hardware store, and it was awful, so this is a wonderful improvement.
