    Hamster hates it

    My hamster absolutely refuses to eat this which sucks because I purchased 2 bags. I'm sure this is an excellent product though, if you don't have a picky hamster. That being said, my hamster loves the rat version of this product and I highly recommend it as well.

    I've been using Mazuri Hamster+Gerbil as the base diet for my gerbil colony since 2011. I add in small portions of Mazuri Insectivore, Mazuri Mini Pig Youth, live or dried insects, seeds/grains/sprouts, fresh or dried fruits+veggies, and/or hay throughout the week as well, due to how different age/activity levels can make an individual gerbil need anywhere between 10-18% protein and 3-9% fat. *Almost all* of the gerbils I've purchased + 100% of my homebred ones really enjoy this food (and this brand in general). Using it as their base-diet has given me noticeably better results (larger, healthier, glossier-looking litters from my breeding pairs) than with the other brands of "Hamster + Gerbil" blocks/pellets I've tried in the past. I *highly* recommend Mazuri to other gerbil owners/breeders. :)
