It's a solid fuel can. Does the job. The new spouts are unhelpful so I made a minor modification and now it works like a dream. Remove the O-ring from the bottom (underside) of the spout. You can then pull the inner spout apart and reveal the heavy tension spring. Remove the spring, reinsert the inner spout, and re-seat the O-ring from below. Now you don't have to press against the spout to keep fuel flowing during a pour. The removal of the spring does not disable the lock that keeps the spout closed between uses. You're welcome.

This is the worst fuel can on the face of the planet. I'm glad I only purchased one of them. Whoever engineered the nozzle should be flogged.

Horrible purchase!

Whoever designed this container is an idiot! It has “Diesel” molded right on its side but it diesel nozzle at the pump does NOT fit in the opening!!! Filling it is an absolute pain. I ended up splattering fuel on my pantleg and boots and over the outside of the container. Do NOT purchase this for diesel fuel!!!!!

Ran out of heating oil and two cans saved the day.

My heating oil tank ran dry and it was 0F outside. Yes, that's a problem. My earliest oil delivery was two days away. Yes, that's a bigger problem... Turns out that (gas station) Diesel fuel is very close in form to heating oil.. it burns a bit hotter and makes a bit more soot, but it will get you through the day. Or in my case 2 days. It's a bit more expensive with taxes but at that point, who cares? Using these cans I put 30 gal in the tank, re-primed the oil furnace pump and had heat until the oil delivery arrived.
