They Don't Last!

They last about 9 months. I have 2 large dogs and they go in and out a reasonable amount. I just ordered another pne of these and I am super frustrated because they don't last. I wish I could change to another pet door but I already cut a hole in my door for this one to fit. I would stay away from Petsafe doors.

Though it is normal to replace flaps over time and flap lifespans will vary for each home based on many factors (where the door is located, if the door is exposed to extreme weather/temperatures, how often and how roughly dogs use the door, etc.), many homes are able to use their flaps for around a year or longer. Since your flaps are becoming damaged more quickly, we would love to speak with you about this directly to see what could be causing it, and what may help extend your flap lifespan. Doggie Doors are Great for big or small dogs

We have used doggie doors for years for our chihuahuas and labs and they are great.

I've had the same dog door on our patio for years and needed to replace the flap -- this is a good weight and matches the original product (which is a pleasant surprise since it seems that everybody is doing things cheaper these days). Appreciate getting a replacement that is going to like like the original!

Easy to order and replace- wish I'd done it sooner

I almost ordered a whole new door but then thought to look and see if the flap could be replaced. So glad I did - it was easy to find out which flap I needed based on the number of screws and so easy to install the old and replace with the new. It first there were a little warping on the side which didn't close fully but as the flap hung it flattened itself out.
