This PetSafe Stubborn Dog In-Ground Fence extra receiver collar can be used to add another dog to your PetSafe In-Ground Fence system or as a replacement collar (not compatible with the UltraSmart and YardMax systems). The collar features 4 levels of static correction at a higher intensity especially for stubborn or hard-to-train dogs.

We would not recommend burying wire deeper than this, as this could cause difficulties when you need to access the wire in the future for repairs or removal, and it can also shorten your maximum signal height a bit. These training systems can be a great fit at deterring dogs from many distractions so it could certainly work well for your situation, though it is important to mention that strong drives such as prey drive and herding drive may require a bit more training. We always recommend moving through the training steps at your dog's pace, moving to the next step only once they've fully mastered the previous step. Many families use these systems for many years to allow their dogs the freedom to play and explore safely within their yards- we'd love to answer any other questions you might have on how well this system can work for you and your family. The Wireless and In-Ground systems are not backwards compatible however any PetSafe Wireless collar receivers will work with any PetSafe Wireless Systems and the same is true for the In-Ground fences and Receiver collars with the exception of YardMax.a year agoHelpful?

The smaller Pet Safe collar didn't keep our dog from going across our inground fence wire and heading over to "visit" our neighbors' dogs, but this collar has enough persuasion that he definitely obeys and doesn't cross over.
