Meet the Pirtle Nursery 2.93 gal. Leyland Cypress Tree. The Leyland Cypress is a fast-growing, needle-leaved evergreen tree with a narrow, pyramidal shape. Its soft sprays of frosty foliage are well-suited for background, accent, hedging or screening. Leyland Cypress Trees also make an excellent natural windbreak. It prefers well-drained soil and full to part sun.

- Requires annual pruning for desired shapes; however, if not pruned will have an oval or pyramidal shape

Q: What is the best time to plant the Leyland Cypress Trees. I know they are fast growing, that is what I am looking for. The area is full sun facing the East. Soil is very compacted. I have previously planted 7 Arborvitae trees but 4 died.
