I bought (12) of these so far, with more planned in the future. I use them to put permanently under my 4 drawer file cabinets so they can be moved around house & basement without unloading their contents. This allows cleaning and rearrangement so much easier. Ever tried to move a fully loaded file cabinet?? Big nightmare. I chose this dolly because their 18 inch width can easily be trimmed down to 15 inches using a table saw without needing to move the casters or fasteners further inboard. You can cut exactly 1-1/2 inches off each side of this dolly and the blade of a saw misses all metal parts. Afterward, this trimmed dolly fits perfect under a 15 inch wide, Letter width file cabinet as a permanent caster base. It's the perfect solution for mobile file cabinets. If you use them under the wider 18 inch Legal width file cabinets, they already fit perfect without needing any trimming. The associated picture shows (3) three of my cabinet/dolly sets after being trimmed to 15 inches as described above.
