Q: On closer reading I see that it is 2 mils thick. That seems to be pretty thin for the type of use this is likely to experience. Maybe it would be ok if it were completely dug in.

Top flat edge of 2 of 4 sections was bent. Was not very happy with that, but item is heavy/bulky so did not bother with it. It does not affect function. Cannot bend back in shape either.

The fire pit ring liner arrived in a package of 4 sections, which made it easy to maneuver and can fit in a smaller car for transport. It is easy to assemble with some bolts, and assembly is managable for one person. It is very sturdy, and is working well and as it should. There was a small dent on the top of the ring from shipping, but that isn't noticible and doesn't affect the function at all. I am pleased.
