Q: what gauge material is it made?
2 years ago- A: 16 gauge.2 years agoHelpful?
Q: I plan on having 2 for a total of 16' opening. DO you think the gate will sag if I mount fence pickets on them?
Anonymous5 years ago- A: This will depend on a few things, like how well they will be attached to their posts. Any additional weight will add to the strain there, and cause potential sag. A good way to potentially work around this would be to install compatible wheel to hold up the ends. Based on how torque works, though, any additional weight will add strain to the connections at the posts, especially weight added toward the unsecured ends of the gate. Because of so many variables, it's a "maybe", but there are things you can do to circumvent the affect that adding pickets will have.5 years agoHelpful?
Q: What size wood post is needed both length (how deep) and width.
5 years ago- A: The manufacturer recommends using a 6" post, but does not have suggestions on length or depth (this is more than likely because different soils and substrates will require different things). It does, however, look like you've got some strong recommendations on that dimension in other comments, from people who've installed these gates, so I would take a look at those to help you decide what length of post / depth of hole you'll need.5 years agoHelpful?
Q: I have exactly 16 ft between posts - two of these gates fit?
7 years ago- A: All gates are 3″ shorter than listed length to allow for gate hardware and proper clearance.7 years agoHelpful?
Q: Can 2 gates be mounted opposing each other and both swing inwards? Can this gate be left mounted and right mounted with both gates opening in the same direction?
9 years ago- A: Yes. These gates will swing in either direction as they are mounted on large hinge pins.5 years agoHelpful?
