Q: I have issues with the jack dragging. What is the minimum extension? If not less than 8", do you have an accessory to shim the jack mounting plate above the frame to reduce the overall extension?

  • A: Mine will pull up all the way to the bottom frame of my trailer only leaving like 2 inches below the trailer so I don’t have a dragging issue

Q: I've had this about 2 years. My main problem is the shaft binding up. What do you recommend to lubricate it? Since it sits between the rig and the trailer, grease picks up all kinds of dirt pretty quickly.

1 Answer
  • A: You can take an oil can and apply oil to the shaft of the jack just above the top of the jack and below the handle. It will run down through the jack and oil the threaded shaft that raises and lowers the jack. Also we recommend WD-40.

Q: my trailer is not an A-Frame but a 3" square tube.Currently have a bolt on style but can't tell model/manufacturer..Is there a way to mount or what jack do you suggest

1 Answer
  • A: This jack will not work on your specified trailer. We suggest a side mount jack with wheel.

Q: Can you elaborate more on what it takes to remove the entire body from the mounting flange? Is it practical to remove it every time after you attach the trailer t the tow vehicle ball? (I want to attach a hitch mount bike rack to a double receiver)

1 Answer
  • A: You could remove the jack every time, but you will have to loosen black plastic before removing it and also remove any wheel or foot attached to bottom of jack

Q: will SKU #184001399 fit the ultimate jack for a foot?

1 Answer
  • A: SKU 1840013 is for jacks with a 2 in tube width. The Ultimate Trailer Jack has a 2-1/4 in tube width. This would not fit as a foot for the jack.

Some install frustrations

Bought one of these jacks for a trailer couple years ago, and have loved the use. Bought these two and both of the trailers, from different manufacturers, need to have the Jack Mounts bored out before we can finish installing them. Not sure what has changed, but it is a frustrating install, and hope they are as useful as the original one. Also, the neck of the Jack is a little wider, so more difficult to get sockets in, and have to manually finish tightening the bolts into the mount !!!

It seems to work great. I had to weld a little skid plate onto the existing one though. The little foot just wasn't cutting it. Other than that, it works well for it purpose.

Yes, I recommend this product.
