Q: What happens if my dog eats the dead rat
7 days ago1 Answer
- A: No studies to date demonstrate that bromethalin remains active in rodent tissues or causes harm via tissue ingestion to date. However, as not all exposure scenarios can be fully evaluated, secondary poisoning cannot be entirely excluded. Consumption of rodents by pets should therefore be minimized to reduce this theoretical risk, as well as potential exposure to rodent-borne diseases. If exposure is suspected, the safest course is to contact a veterinarian promptly and provide the exact bait product information if possible.7 days agoHelpful?
Q: Are the baits in this fatal to anything that consumes the rat/ mice that consume the bait?
7 months ago1 Answer
- A: Unfortunately there is limited scientific data available regarding "secondary poisoning" of a pet such as a dog or cat, consuming a rat that died from poison. However, Bromethalin is a different mode of action than many traditional rodenticides - it is an acute active ingredient, so rats & mice do not have to eat as much bait and will have less poison in them when they die.7 months agoHelpful?
Q: How to open the bait station
a year ago1 Answer
- A: 1. Loading the Bait: Wear waterproof gloves when handling the bait and station. Open the refillable station. You'll typically need to push a tab up with one hand while squeezing prongs on the bait cartridge and pulling it out with the other. Place 1 or 2 blocks of bait into the cartridge. Push the cartridge back into the station until it clicks into place, indicating it's secure. 2. Placement: Determine areas where rodents are likely to travel or find food, such as along walls, near burrows, or in corners. Place the bait station in those areas. If using multiple stations, space them 15 to 30 feet apart, especially for rats. Ensure the station's entryway faces outward from the wall or corner. The station can be placed horizontally or vertically. 3. Monitoring and Refilling: Monitor the bait level through the clear lid or window. Maintain a constant supply of fresh bait for at least 10 days, or until signs of rodent activity cease. While wearing gloves, replace bait if it's been consumed or contaminated. 4. Follow-Up: After rodent activity stops, collect and dispose of any leftover bait or carcasses while wearing gloves. To prevent reinfestation, eliminate food, water, and harborage sources as much as possible. If reinfestation occurs, repeat the treatment. Important Safety Precautions: Keep the bait station and refills out of reach of children and pets. Do not handle the product near food, animal feed, or drinking water. Always wash hands thoroughly after applying bait and before eating, drinking, or using the restroom. The bait contains bromethalin, a nerve poison. If ingested by humans or animals, seek medical attention immediately. The station is resistant to tampering by children and dogs but care should still be taken. This will bring up a PDF of the box, which shows the instructions as well. Good luck!8 years agoHelpful?

Good Design! Lots of bait.

I like the way the poison blocks are secured in the box. Rats & mice like to grab food and carry it away. This forces them to consume it in the box. Also a clear window to verify if it’s time to add more.
Yes, I recommend this product.
