I see alot of comments about how they mold over and die. I work in horticulture, I know what im doing to a T, and this is still too challenging to keep them alive. These kits are dissappointing, they're only designed to fail due to the drastic demands and attention to detail mainly during the germination period (I.e. temp, humidty, sunlight, watering, aeration, and the prevention of mold and pests). If you or your kids really want a fly traps, buy ones that are already grown and learn how to take care of them then. People tend to under estimate the difficulty in taking care of plants at home, fly traps are especially difficult if you don't have an idea on what you're doing or looking out for. Tips: If you do buy already grown fly traps, re-pot them ASAP, unfertalized peet moss and perlite as the medium. Only use distilled, filtered or rain water. Avoid fertilizers as they are carnivorous plants that don't need it. Please research the plants you buy before you buy them, as to avoid killing them :).

The seeds must be dried out and when I got home take root. They're just like they say it and use the distilled water.
