Q&As

1 - 10 of 28 Questions

Q: Does it have a cooling fan?

1 Answer
  • A: Yes, the cooling fan runs under two conditions: -When the inverter reaches 1000 watts (which will vary based on the WATT rating of the inverter), the fan will run at slow speed. -When the temperature reaches 140 degrees F, the fan will run at full speed.

Q: Can this be hooked up to a 12 volt lantern battery and get the same resolts as a car battery?

1 Answer
  • A: : Yes, it can be connected for use as it is within the rated voltage range. However, the battery capacity (so called Ah) should also be considered. Generally speaking, the capacity of a 12V lantern battery is relatively small compared with a car battery, it could run out very quickly and may not get the same results as a car battery.

Q: Does this run when not under load? I want an inverter where the fan does not run when connected and nothing is drawing power.

1 Answer
  • A: SKU10770559 200W inverter’s fan runs when it is connected to the power even without load. SKU# 1070558 1500W inverter’s and SKU#1072569 3000W inverter’s fans do not run or draw power under no load. Their funs are temperature control, when the inner temperature reach 60C the fan will run and stops when the temperature drops below 50C

Q: Will it run a 10.5 amp chainsaw

1 Answer
  • A: A 200W power inverter will not run a 10.5 amp chainsaw. The chainsaw requires far more power to operate safely than the inverter can provide, and attempting to do so will almost certainly damage the inverter and could potentially harm the chainsaw

Q: Is this pure sine wave?

1 Answer
  • A: This unit is a modified sine inverter. Devices That Might Be Damaged By a Modified Sine Wave Inverter: While you’re probably fine using an inexpensively modified sine wave inverter in your camper, there are a few different things that you don’t want to run off a modified sine wave. Anything that uses an AC motor isn’t going to work to full capacity on a modified sine wave. Appliances like refrigerators, microwaves, and compressors that use AC motors won’t run as efficiently on a modified sine wave as they would on a pure sine wave. In some cases, running an AC motor on a modified sine wave may lead to a buildup of excess waste heat that could damage the equipment. You’re probably OK to use these devices with a modified sine wave inverter, but you do so at your own risk.

Q: Does it plug into lighter

1 Answer
  • A: Not recommended. Because of the small wire size and fusing, a cigarette/accessory lighter can only provide up to 120 watts which will not operate. *The smaller unit model 7822P can only be used in the cigarette/accessory plug, rated at 200 Watts. And 7504B rated at 500 Watts.

Q: How many amps does the 12 volt input side draw ? I plan to use it on a 20 amp circuit in my truck.

1 Answer
  • A: If the user's truck circuit is 20A,12V, it is suggested to load 100W appliance for the most. If user wants to use full load 200W, please make sure the input amps is 40A, 12V.

Q: How do you charge the power inverter

1 Answer
  • A: Inverter unit cannot be charged. This needs an external power source to draw 12 Volt DC power from a battery to convert to AC power for appliances.

Great for laptop on the road

Bought the inverter for a trip to power my laptop while on the road. Worked great with the 90W AC adapter powering the laptop. So far maybe 20-hours of total use and no issues.

200 watts?? Not even close. Wont even deliver 65w

I bought this inverter to power a laptop with a rated power drawer of 65 Watts. I had a cheapo 75 watt inverter that worked great until it stopped working completely so I got this one thinking it would be more than enough except this won't deliver 65 watts of power with the supplied cables. Only if I hard wire it to the battery does it work. But that leaves the circuit vulnerable to all kinds of issues that I shouldn't have to be concerned with because I shouldn't have to hard wire anything to my battery,.not even my winch is hard wired to my batteries because I don't want any unforseen headaches in the middle of nowhere on the side of a mountain like i usually am. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone for any reason, unless you collect useless garbage that doesn't work and like throwing money in the trash.

No, I do not recommend this product.

The indicator light has stopped working and the USB ports have stopped working. Outlets are still producing power but not sure how much longer it'll make it.
